Knight&rsquos Cross Holders of the SS and German Police 194045 Volume 1 Miervaldis Adamsons &ndash Georg Hurdelbrink Michael D Miller Books Reviews

  • A great reference to the holders of Knights Cross of the Waffen SS. As with Mr. Miller's other books, it is loaded with useful and rare information about each man and loaded with fantastic photos. A must for the WWII library.
  • Amazing book!!!! Tons of information. Can't wait for the next one.
  • After attempting to read half of this $88 thin covered paperback which only has grainy black and white photos,

I have decided that it was a waste of my time and money. I am a WWII history buff and I am bamboozled by the spurious conspiracy theory connections the author creates, at times I felt like I was watching Alex Jones, not to mention the typos and grammatical errors (yes I am an author as well and it is important in publishing).

Please read the two 5 star reviews above and tell me that these don't reek of the author reviewing his own literature. It reminds me of the old-school E-machine Wal-Mart reviews. I know for a fact that negative reviews of this book are being censored. Just sayin...
  • This book, the first in a series, is an absolutely brilliant piece of excellent research compiled in a very user-friendly format. Up until now there has not been many works in English that dealt solely with the Knight's Cross winners of the SS and Polizei. Of course Mark Yerger's excellent series on German Cross in Gold winners of the SS does cover quite a lot of Knight's Cross winners, however it's main focus is on German Cross winners, as well as unit structure, history and organization. The only book in English thus far that covers the Knight's Cross winners of the SS is Jost Schneider's book. However this book is quite dated, and doesn't have a large amount of relevant information. In German, Ernst G Krätschmer's book is probably the most detailed as it is written in a mini-biography format. Also the recent books by Jurgen Karl, also only in German, are also written in Krätschmer's style. That being said, this book by Mr. Miller is the most detailed work that has ever been released in English. It is written in capsule biography style, with information on everything from their SS and Party numbers, to all of their promotions, but primarily all of the awards and decorations each individual received. In this later aspect this series goes far beyond anything thus produced on this subject and is as, if not more, comprehensive than the famous Biblio Verlag series of Knight's Cross winners. The research done includes numerous primary sources and archival material. Finally the multitude of photographs are astounding! Many rare and never before released photos of the Knight's Cross winners accompany the text. All of them with excellent captions. This book is without a doubt a necessary buy for anyone interested in this subject.
  • I borrowed a friends copy. I like a history book that lays the facts out without the opinions of the authors, letting me come to my own conclusions. this book does just that.
  • I have bought six of Mike Miller's books now, some at great expense after I missed the first run. All of them are well worth the money and this one is no different. Tremendous research is on display on every page and you will not be disappointed. Ignore the one star review, he is a troll and has done the same thing for all Mike's books. Highly recommended!
  • As with Michael Miller's other books, this one has been finely researched and the information presented is very impressive. Great illustrations. Any serious student of the Knight's Cross must have this book. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
  • Very detailed
