Dragons of Bourbon Street Jade Calhoun Series Book 9 edition by Deanna Chase Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
- I love the series and this book was no different. It was nice to see the whole gang. I loved seeing Jade pregnant and delivering the baby. I can't wait to see what her baby is like as she grows up.
- Jade, Pyper and Kane never fail to get pulled into some dramatic craziness! Dragons, fire-breathing dogs and attack alligators... never a dull moment. And an important new character at the end!
- I was so excited to read another Jade Calhoun book! It didn't disappoint. There was danger, excitement, love and laughter. I highly recommend the Jade Calhoun series and Pyper Rayne series.
- We made a lot of new friends and a few enemies this time. Each book gets better and takes us deeper in Jades life. Can’t wait to see all the chaos that the baby causes!
- This is another great book in the Jade Calhoun series. I just love all the magical mysterious things that happen in each book of this series’s.
- Great read it was worth the wait! Jade has the baby! All is well. Ready for the next one Deanna.
- Great to visit with Jade and friends again.
- Deanna Chase revisits Jade Calhoun and her world in her newest book, Dragons of Bourbon Street. Jade is just trying to take it easy, enjoy helping Kat and Pyper plan their weddings, and get ready for the arrival of her baby girl. Of course, Jade should know better than to expect the universe to cooperate with her plans. As she and Pyper are shopping for Kat’s bachelorette party, they meet Harper who seems to know a great deal about Jade and implies that she needs her help. But before Harper can explain anything to Jade, agents from the Witches’ Council swoop in and take Harper into custody. Harper leaves behind her very odd pet—a dog that appears to breathe fire. Jade can’t help trying to help Harper and soon finds herself in the Council’s custody as well, where she finds that Harper escaped custody. Even worse, the Council forces Jade and Pyper to work for them to find Harper or face charges of their own. As Jade and Pyper investigate, they learn that Harper’s family has dragon blood and that several of her cousins have recently gone missing. Jade soon finds herself in tremendous danger as she tries to save Harper’s family and protect her own growing family.
I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons. The main plot line involving Harper puts Jade in grave danger and offers a number of nail-biting scenes that are sure to enthrall readers. Ms. Chase does a masterful job depicting the final showdown between Jade and the villain in this book. I love an author that can make me feel like I’m really in the middle of the action. But that has always been one of Ms. Chase’s skills— the ability to put her readers in her characters’ shoes and make readers sympathize and identify with the characters. Whether it was Harper’s cousins’ desperation after her disappearance or Jade’s distrust of the Council, I could imagine exactly how each character was feeling,
Another reason this book is so enjoyable is because Ms. Chase creates characters who have deep connections. Throughout this book (and the whole series), she shows how friendships can make people family. Much like Pyper and Kane, Jade and Kat’s relationship is so much more than a simple friendship. Kat and Lucien finally get married in this book, and the gift that Jade gives Kat demonstrates how close these two women are, how much Jade loves and understands Kat. I enjoyed those moments between Jade and Kat where we’re reminded that, before any of the other characters entered their lives, these two women had been each other’s family. The personal relationships in this series have been so important to my enjoyment of this series. I feel like I know these characters on such a deep level because Ms. Chase has let us see them as more than just one-dimensional.
I highly recommend Dragons of Bourbon Street, the newest Jade Calhoun book by Deanna Chase
