Astrophysics for Young People in a Hurry Audible Audio Edition Neil deGrasse Tyson Gregory Mone Gabrielle de Cuir LeVar Burton Inc Blackstone Audio Books Reviews

  • I preordered this book for my 8 year old son who has been fascinated with the universe and the complex wonders it holds for a long while. I was so excited and hopeful that it would be engaging for his young age, but also tackle some of those more advanced topics that he has been interested in. The book has met my expectations!

I read this book to my son, and I am learning right along with him. The language is engaging for younger people, with humor and well delivered word pictures throughout.

I highly recommend this book, with one caveat the book goes into great detail on the creation of the universe through the Big Bang, and so if your beliefs lead you to a different understanding of the beginning of the universe you will need to be prepared to discuss this with your child.
  • My 10-year old has a copy of "Astrophysics for people in a hurry". He loves the segments he understands. He longed for a good version that was more accessible for his age but also was visually much more appealing. This edition fits that need nicely. It is a larger size (and larger print) compared to the adult version which is a pocket book for all practical purposes. It also feels well put together and is designed for kids to read and enjoy.
My 10-year old hasnt received this copy since it is his birthday gift (coming soon) but I am positive he will love this.
  • My nine year old cannot put this down - he says astrophysics is his new favorite subject, and I'm thrilled that he finds a fairly obscure and difficult to comprehend topic (for most of us) so engaging - definitely a sign of a job well done on the author's part. The book seems well written, I haven't read it but I did skim through it, and there's plenty of humor thrown in which my son especially appreciates and enjoys reading to me.

I'm not crazy about the paperback version - the paper is the plasticky kind that doesn't quite bend how I like pages to bend - but that's just personal preference and my son doesn't care. I'm going to order a hardback copy for his classroom at school.
  • I wanted an overview of the complicated and complex elements of the cosmos.
    without the math usually involved.

    It did just that.
  • This is, by far, the best book for kids ever. We have it for our daughter and 2 nephews. Thank you for sharing!
  • My 15 year old son loved it
  • My daughter loves science and who and better to hear it from then Neil! She is a big fan and loves the book!
  • Great book for my 13 year old. Excellent info and expertly presented.
